1983 was the epic year the Colorado River through Grand Canyon topped out at over 100,000 cfs. This amazing image was captured above the hole in Crystal Rapid.
Since the creation of the Glen Canyon Dam in 1963, there had never been water flows of this level. Unprecedented snowfall in the largest El Nino event on record & the sudden thaw followed by warm rains, created the incredible surge of water flow. Such flows will never be seen like this again.
