FLEXTUFF
Raft & Inflatable Boat Coating
Have you ever wished you could just paint a new coating or paint a name or numbers onto any part of your raft?
Well now you can. Man of Rubber's Flextuff is a two part
urethane coating that can be applied to Hypalon/Neoprene or PVC/Urethane boats (please choose primer below for your type of boat). It dries overnight and is
both abrasion resistant and flexible when cured.
Flextuff is easy to mix because you simply combine equal parts of Part A and Part B. Flextuff is clear when mixed. To match the color of your boat you simply stir in our special Flextuff Pigment. Available colors are: Black, White, Gray, Royal, Sapphire, Red, Gold or Orange. You can also combine pigments to create your own custom colors.
It is also easy to apply with either a disposable
brush, short nap roller or HVLP sprayer (Flextuff may be thinned NO MORE than 10% with MEK).
Special Flextuff Primer is sold in either 4 oz. cans which cover about 10-12 sq. ft., 16 oz. cans which cover about 40 sq. ft. or 32 oz. cans which cover about 80 sq. ft. Before applying Flextuff Primer you should "buff" or abrade the surface of the area to create a "texture" for the Flextuff to grip (see below for abrasive wheels). You can use 2" masking tape if needed to get a clean edge.
Apply the Flextuff Primer and allow to dry until it is about as sticky as duct tape before applying the first coat of Flextuff. If a second coat of Flextuff is desired you should prime and apply within 24 hours or the surface of the Flextuff will have to be buffed and primed before it may be applied again.

Abrasive Wheels
Work in any variable speed drill. Use these wheels to "buff" the surface of inflatable boats. Most adhesives, paints and coatings will not stick to an inflatable boat unless the surface has been abraded to eliminate the "shine". Do not abrade so much that you expose the base cloth.
3" Gray Coarse - Most abrasive - $9.95
4" Gray Coarse - 2nd most abrasive - $10.95
3" Orange Medium - 3rd most abrasive - $9.95
4" Orange Medium - Least abrasive, best for old or thin boats - $10.95
